David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.
Best-selling children's author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.
An official for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.
The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his books, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into television films.
He has published more than 40 books combined, including a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
