Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Connected to Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and were in communication with the NFL.
The team did not mention the player by name in their announcement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Claims Shared on Instagram
The woman, who likewise did not name Rice by name, shared a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this season due to an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals hurt. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, he finished the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
